1960

In the 1960s, 70s and 80s, the golf courses of the Basque Coast (Biarritz, Chantaco, Chiberta, La Nivelle in particular) regularly hosted high-level golf championships in different formats and names: Omnium de la Côte Basque, Open de la Côte Basque, Open Timex and others.

Ballesteros

Big names in golf took part, such as Tommy Aaron, Ian Baker-Finch, Manuel and Severiano Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Tony Jacklin, Bernhard Langer, not forgetting of course Jean Garaïalde, Bernard Pascassio and the best French professionals and amateurs.

1970

In 1970, 1971 and 1972, Chantaco, Biarritz and La Nivelle hosted the French Open, a mark, if ever there was one, of the aura of Basque golf courses and sporting culture.

2022

Wishing to reconnect with this prestigious heritage and recreate a great golf celebration, we launched in 2022, the ARKEA OMNIUM INTERNATIONAL SENIOR DE LA COTE BASQUE .
