The Arkéa Omnium brings together
The Arkéa Omnium is a professional golf championship that takes place in the Basque Country at the beginning of summer: in short, it is an international-level tournament with a prize of €50,000. The successor to the Basque Coast Open, launched in 1967 at the initiative of tennis champion and business leader René Lacoste, the Arkéa Omnium brings together professionals and excellent senior amateurs (50+) on the magnificent Arcangues Golf Course, prepared for the occasion to the standard of professional tours.
But the Arkéa Omnium is much more; this brief description and this lineage are not enough to account for it.
The Arkéa Omnium takes on its full meaning because it creates, strengthens, or renews so many connections. It rekindles the bonds between professional golfers who have rubbed shoulders for years during their careers. It brings together professional and amateur golfers, two worlds that too often operate in parallel, and who, at the Arkéa Omnium, play the same championship. It creates links between champions and the public, who can get up close and personal with them. It promotes the transmission of the passion for the game of golf to future generations. It strengthens the bond between the Basque Country and golfers from all over France, Europe, and beyond. It brings together the village of Arcangues around its historical, cultural, and golfing heritage. It connects the local business world, volunteers, and golf professionals. It promotes a respectful and informed relationship with nature and biodiversity, so present in Arcangues.
Among others.

And then, the Arkéa Omnium is elegant
Because elegance is an attitude. It's not a virtue, it's a politeness. Being elegant means showing yourself in your best light, behaving appropriately. It's a courtesy we extend to others. Far beyond appearances, it's a mark of respect for the people around us.
And that's at the Arkéa Omnium.
What's new in 2025
The Nations Cup
The main new feature this year is the creation of the Nations Cup. It will reward the team representing a national PGA that achieves the highest ranking at the Arkea Omnium. It will bring a touch of national pride and a boost of competitive excellence to the golfing debate. At the time of writing, six nationalities will be represented at the Nations Cup: Germany, Belgium, Spain (two teams), France (two teams), Italy, and the USA (two teams).
Arkea Young Talents Challenge
Renewed and renamed, the Arkéa Young Talents Challenge brings together representatives from a dozen clubs in the Pyrénées Atlantiques, Landes, and Gipuzkoa (see article below). Around 80 young men and women (U16) will proudly wear the colors of their club on Saturday, June 28.
What does the 2025 edition look like?
This 2025 edition is shaping up very well. Under the direction of Benjamin d'Arcangues, the Arcangues golf team is more motivated than ever to host the Arkéa Omnium. This is true for the grounds team, which has some nice improvements in store for players that they will appreciate as connoisseurs. This is just as true for the reception team and, of course, for the entire catering team, which is preparing to contribute to the celebration with its professionalism, good humor, and gastronomic creativity. Tournament Director Alain de Soultrait will lead operations with the talent and rigor for which he is known. He will be assisted by four referees, an on-call doctor, and around sixty
of club volunteers who, year after year, do a tremendous job. On the championship side, the number of registrations is increasing, as is the quality of the field of players. It is becoming more international since players of at least nine nationalities will be present this year. It is enriched with new talents: a growing number of competitors who have played on the international professional tours such as the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour (formerly the PGA European Tour) and the qualifying tours such as the Web.com and the Challenge Tour will be present this year. The 2025 headliners will be the Spanish teams Miguel-Angel Martin and Santiago Luna,
Arruti - Roca, Balmaseda - Benitez, the French Rémésy - Farry, Van de Velde - Lassalle and Alexandre - Baffico, the American pairs Blanks - Johnson and Schulz - O'Neil and the Italians Bianco - Tadini, among others. Great international teams will also be at the start: Raphaël Jacquelin will be associated with the American professional Jeffrey Jackson and Roger Sabarros with the Englishman John Gould. Other teams that could claim victory or places of honor are the Belgian team Langenaeken - De Vooght, the French Lahary - Nicolaï or Christian Cevaër, former winner of the Spanish Open and his partner. In total, more than fifty teams are expected.
